Paramount+ has officially announced the premiere date for “Halo” Season 2, marking the return of the popular series based on the renowned video game franchise. The much-anticipated second season is set to debut on February 8, 2024, across all countries where Paramount+ is accessible. Fans can expect the first two episodes to be released on the premiere date, followed by weekly releases of new episodes thereafter.

The announcement was made during the CCXP event in São Paolo, Brazil, where cast members Pablo Schreiber and Joseph Morgan, along with the new showrunner David Wiener and executive producer Kiki Wolfkill, were present. Paramount+ also unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

Season 2’s official description sets the stage for intense action, stating, “Master Chief John-117 (Schreiber) leads his elite Spartan team against the formidable alien threat, the Covenant. Following a startling event on a desolate planet, John senses a shift in the war and risks everything to convince others that the Covenant is gearing up to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. As the galaxy teeters on the edge, John embarks on a mission to uncover the key to humankind’s salvation or extinction – the Halo.”

Joining the cast for Season 2, Joseph Morgan takes on the role of James Ackerson, described as a skilled intelligence operative within the UNSC’s secretive Office of Naval Intelligence. Cristina Rodlo also joins as Talia Perez, a corporal with expertise in linguistics within a UNSC Marine Corps communications unit—a recent recruit yet to experience real combat.

The returning cast members include Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, Fiona O’Shaughnessy, and Tylan Bailey.

Produced by Showtime in association with 343 Industries and Amblin Television, “Halo” Season 2 is executive produced by David Wiener, Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television. Kiki Wolfkill serves as the executive producer for Xbox/343 Industries, alongside Otto Bathurst and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture and Gian Paolo Varani. Pablo Schreiber and Natascha McElhone also step into producer roles for this season. The series is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
